Attire
Bottom Garment
  • Color must be NEUTRAL with no holes. (NO CARGO, NO LOGOS)
  • Skirts, skorts, jumpers, and shorts of appropriate length.
  • Belt buckles must not portray illegal or gang related items.
  • Pants must be pulled up to the hips.
Top Garment
  • Shirt: Colors may be WHITE, GRAY, BLACK OR BURGUNDY/MAROON. Small brand logos and the Doolen Middle School emblem are okay.
  • Shirt must have sleeves and collar. Either a polo knit-type shirt or an oxford button down shirt is acceptable.
  • Shirts should be buttoned up such as to not expose inappropriately.
Jackets/Hoodies
  • School uniform must be worn underneath. No inappropriate logo/messages or distracting patterns/colors
Shoes
  • Closed toe shoes
  • No Crocs/slides
Head Wear
  • Religious garments such as Hijabs, Niqabs, Burqas, Yarmulkes, Tichels, and Dastars are allowed.
  • All non-religious hats and hoods are prohibited when inside but may be worn outside. Inappropriate logos/messages are not allowed.
For Approved Free Dress Days
Any student found in violation of the dress code will be sent home. The "Doolen Wear" guidelines apply to all school-related activities.
Choices for Top Garment
A. Girls' Clothing: Blouses can be sleeveless, short sleeves or long sleeves. Clothing must cover the midriff even when arms are extended overhead. A T-shirt with sleeves must be worn under tank tops and jerseys.

B. Boys' Clothing: A T-shirt with sleeves must be worn under tank tops and jerseys.

Choices for Bottom Garment
A. Girls' Clothing: Skirts, culottes, dresses, and shorts must extend past fingertips when arms are extended at sides. They cannot be rolled past the point of the fingertips.

B. Boys' Clothing: Pants and shorts must be worn at the waist (No sagging). Military belts must have a plain buckle, and all belts must be secured in belt loops.

C. Shoes: Shoes must not be altered.

Unacceptable Clothing/Items
1. See-through garments.
2. Clothing that reveals undergarments.
3. Altered clothing which violates the dress code.
4. Excessively form-fitting garments.
5. 8-balls on clothing.
6. Hats, hairnets, and bandanas.
7. Items or clothing which identify or signify illegal or racist organizations.
8. Outfits entirely of one color (all brown, all blue, all red, all maroon, all black).
9. Clothing which advertises sex, profanity, alcohol, tobacco, drugs or illegal organizations.
10. Stretch or bicycle shorts.
11. Sunglasses.
12. Wallet chains or chokers.
13. Remembrance T-shirts (In Memory of . . . ).
14. Red or Blue shoelaces are not allowed.
